ONLY Holland have a worse penalty shoot-out record than England.
Since the 1990 World Cup semi- final showdown with Germany, England have taken part in five spot-kick deciders - and won just the Euro 96 contest with Spain.
The Dutch must be dreading going to penalties against Sweden in tomorrow's quarter-final - they have yet to win one after four attempts. England have now taken 27 penalties in shoot-outs at major tournaments and scored with 20 of them, a success rate of 74 per cent.
However, their opponents have converted 22 goals from the 26 penalties against English goalkeepers, not surprisingly a much better success rate of 84.6 per cent.
